Dermatologist Susana Ortiz-Urda, M.D. Ph.D., Co-Director of the UCSF Melanoma Center, discusses novel targeted agents to treat aggressive melanomas.
A gift to the Melanoma Program helps our physicians
and scientists discover new
treatments and cures related to skin cancer.
UCSF offers melanoma patients a broad menu of clinical trials, providing those eligible with access to some of the most promising novel agents and targeted therapies. Our clinical trials span various stages of melanoma, and include disease prevention, recurrence in high-risk surgical patients, and innovative drug therapies for patients with advanced metastatic melanoma.
Our principal investigators collaborate with melanoma researchers world-wide including the National Cancer Institute (NCI), cooperative inter-institutional research groups such as CALGB, ECOG, SWOG, ACSOG, and RTOG, and pharmaceutical companies to conduct clinical trials for the most promising therapies in melanoma.
